Connecting to Bluetooth accessories

The T7 tablet / Yuma 7 tablet computer has embedded Bluetooth wireless technology—a short-range wireless communication technology that allows wireless data transfer and communication between devices over a distance of up to 10 meters (30 feet).

To pair the T7 tablet / Yuma 7 tablet computer with a Bluetooth device, it must have a Bluetooth PIN. Some old Bluetooth devices do not require a PIN. For security, the T7 tablet / Yuma 7 tablet computer cannot connect to these older devices that do not require a PIN.

NOTE – To connect to a Bluetooth-enabled receiver with a PIN, if for any reason you cannot connect via Bluetooth, connect over Wi-Fi to configure the receiver. The IP address is in most cases 192.168.142.1. Refer to the documentation for the receiver for details and receiver specific settings.

TIP – To save battery, turn off Bluetooth when you are not using it. Bluetooth is off when the device is in Airplane mode.

Before you can transfer data or communicate between your T7 tablet / Yuma 7 tablet computer and another Bluetooth enabled device, you must pair the T7 tablet / Yuma 7 tablet computer and the device.

To pair and connect a Bluetooth device with the T7 tablet / Yuma 7 tablet computer :

  1. Turn on the Bluetooth device and make it discoverable. To learn how to do this, check the documentation for the Bluetooth device or go to the manufacturer’s website.

  2. Tap / Settings / Devices / Bluetooth.

  3. Make sure the slider is set to On, then tap Add Bluetooth or other device, then tap Bluetooth. The T7 tablet / Yuma 7 tablet computer searches for Bluetooth devices.

  4. In the list of Bluetooth devices, tap the device you want to pair with the T7 tablet / Yuma 7 tablet computer .

  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to finish pairing the devices.

  6. If the other device requires a passcode (sometimes called a pairing code), you’ll be prompted for it. If you don’t know the passcode, check the information that came with the device or the manufacturer’s website.
